Années de pèlerinage is a set of three suites for solo piano by Franz Liszt, written in the 1830s when he was travelling to Swiss and Italy. Venezia e Napoli means Venice and Naples, the cities that impressed him during his travel, which were based on Italian melodies, and he composed with very rich harmonies and use of chromaticism which reflect his musical styles.

Sergei Prokofiev's Piano Sonata No. 8 in B♭ major, Op. 84 is a sonata for solo piano, it is the last of his three ‘War Sonatas’. He completed it in 1944 and dedicated it to his partner Mira Mendelson. The sonata was first performed on 30 December 1944, in Moscow, by Emil Gilels.
