Haydn's last three piano sonatas were written during the composer's second trip to London. The sonatas were written in dedication to Therese Jansen. In this sonata, Haydn's use of the pedal is very distinctive whereas the pedal was hardly utilized in his other sonatas. This movement has a very carefree, humorous character explored throughout.

Fireworks is one of the most colourful works in Debussy's 24 preludes. Overall, a delicate and rich atmosphere is established through seamless flourishes. The "La Marseillaise" motif is evident throughout that undergoes arrangements in intervals and tonality.
