2 Poemes Op. 32 | Alexander Scriabin (1872 - 1915) | 25 | 12:20 |
No. 1 in F sharp major: Andante cantabile No. 2 in D Major: Allegro con eleganza, con fiducia

Scriabin’s music evokes a sense of elation, upsurge, and weightlessness, as if the law of gravity has been reversed. As once described by Boris Pasternak: “[Scriabin] had a habit of walking and then continuing to glide without walking like a stone thrown over the water and gliding over it….It seems that he would simply leave the ground and float above itâ€. The Poemes follow a binary structure. The first is decorated and adorned by beautiful harmonies and melodic flourishes whilst the second poem is reinforced by powerful octaves and vibrant energy.
Sonata in A flat major Op. 110 | Ludwig van Beethoven (1770 - 1827)

Composed in 1821, Beethoven’s Piano Sonata in A flat major is one of Beethoven's last explorations of the Piano Sonata genre. It offers a journey of sophisticated emotions and warmth through its exploration of themes with simple lyricism and varying textures.
