Wil Rigby, Flute
This is Bach's only work for solo flute and was written somewhere betweem 1717 and 1723 which is about when he became familiar with the transverse flute. The Allemande is noticeable in itself as it ends on a high A, a note at the limit of what the transverse flute could reliably play.

This is a form which Mozart would later revisit in the slow movement of his A major piano concerto (K.488). The sonata ends with a presto (sonata form) in F major.
